Who We Are
About Us
A community of Jewish and Gentile believers, gathered in the name of Yeshua
Our Story
A Home for Jewish & Gentile Believers
Kehilat Ben David was founded in 2015 out of a desire to worship the God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob in a way that honors the Jewish roots of our faith. Our name — “Congregation of the Son of David” — reflects our identity: a people gathered in the name of Yeshua, the promised Son of David and Messiah of Israel.
We are a congregation of both Jewish and Gentile believers who come together each Shabbat to worship, study, and eat together.
We meet in Oceanport, NJ on the 1st and 3rd Saturday of each month at 12:30 PM. You don’t need to be Jewish, religious, or have any background in Messianic Judaism to join us. You just need to come.
Statement of Faith
What We Believe
The beliefs that form the foundation of our community, our worship, and our shared life together.
The One Living God
We believe in the one and only living God, the God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, the Creator of Heaven and Earth.
Father, Son, and Holy Spirit
We believe that the one true God exists eternally in three persons — Father, Son, and Holy Spirit — and that these, being one God, are equal in deity, power, and glory.
Yeshua — Messiah & Redeemer
We believe that Yeshua (Jesus) is the Son of God and Israel's promised Messiah and the Redeemer of the entire human race. According to the prophet Isaiah, Yeshua gave His life as an atoning sacrifice for our sins.
Salvation by Grace Alone
We believe salvation is by grace alone, through faith alone, in Yeshua Ha Mashiach alone. There is nothing we can do on our own merit to receive the gift of salvation.
The Inspired Word of God
We believe the Torah is the inspired Word of God, inerrant as originally given; along with the Prophets (Nevi'im), the Writings (Ketuvim), and the Brit Chadashah (New Covenant). Together they form the complete revelation of God's will for the redemption of mankind.
Forgiveness & New Life for All
We believe that anyone — whether Jewish or Gentile — who by faith genuinely trusts Messiah Yeshua as Savior and Redeemer is immediately forgiven of sin and becomes a child of God. This salvation is not the result of any human effort, merit, or works; it is the gift of God.
One Way of Salvation
We believe there is only one way — whether Jewish or Gentile — to receive salvation: through faith in Yeshua Ha Mashiach alone.
"I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me." — John 14:6
The Incarnation, Resurrection & Return
We believe that God the Son became flesh in the person of Yeshua, conceived of the Spirit of God and born of the Jewish virgin Miriam (Mary). We believe in His full deity and full humanity, His sinless life and miracles, His death as the sacrifice for sin, His bodily resurrection on the third day, and His future return in glory to establish His literal kingdom on earth.

How We Worship
Our Worship
Our worship is Messianic in style — blending Hebrew and English, drawing from the rich tradition of Jewish prayer and the expressive worship of the New Covenant community. It is participatory, heartfelt, and centered on the Scriptures.
We incorporate elements of the traditional Jewish liturgy — including the Shema, the Amidah, and the Aaronic Blessing — as well as contemporary Messianic praise songs and prayer.
“Hear, O Israel: the LORD our God, the LORD is one.”
— Deuteronomy 6:4
“The LORD bless you and keep you; the LORD make His face shine on you and be gracious to you; the LORD turn His face toward you and give you peace.”
— Numbers 6:24–26
For Our Gentile Friends
Grafted In
The Apostle Paul describes Gentile believers as wild olive branches grafted into the cultivated olive tree of Israel (Romans 11:17). You are not a stranger to the covenants of Israel — in Messiah, you have been brought near.
You Belong Here
Whether you have Jewish heritage or not, you are fully welcome in this community. Kehilat Ben David has always been a congregation of both Jewish and Gentile believers, worshiping side by side.
A Richer Faith
Exploring the Jewish context of Scripture often opens the Bible in new and profound ways. Many Gentile believers find that worshiping in a Messianic setting gives their faith deeper roots and a richer understanding of Yeshua.
“There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither slave nor free, there is no male and female, for you are all one in Messiah Yeshua.”
— Galatians 3:28
